The cabinet is metal, and while it’s not extremely sturdy when being moved — mainly because the back consists of two thin panels secured together — it feels perfectly stable once assembled and in place. The glass panels allow you to see the shoes, though I’m considering frosting them for a cleaner look since I don’t need them visible. Taller boots may not fit unless you remove or adjust a shelf. I just finished assembly. It took me way too long but I got it done! It looks beautiful. You do have to be careful with some of the screws in the manufactured wood but the finished product is solid. I do think the back panels should be the same manufactured wood as the rest. The very thin nails to secure part of the cardboard panels are difficult to hold let alone nail in.
