Looks great on my round upholstered ottoman. It is round tray with wooden sides within a metal inlay sitting on top of wooden veneer. I added a clear coat finish on the bottom just in case the bottom material, which looks like black particle board, got damp. There are black foam pads also on the bottom in case you want to set it on a table.
