Wow! This 72” mantel was even better than expected. The stain was even, and the finish was more on the matte side which was exactly what I wanted for our remodeled family room! I decided on and purchased this mantle for many reasons. 1) It being a Pearl Mantle let me know it would be made with quality. 2) It’s real wood and not some sort of plastic or pressed board. 3) it’s decorative and accentuates my decor perfectly and 4) the cost wasn’t cheap, but wasn’t unreasonably high! It arrived nicely packed, but I took one star away as it did not come with the 2 inch wood screws needed to do its install! It also did not come with instructions for installation. This meant searching online for instructions and having to go get the screws needed for the install. The distressed beams will not be a solid color. Easy to install utilizing a French cleat mounting bracket which is included. Screws are not included. You will need to purchase 3" screws for the application you will be attaching the bracket to. Wood is considered a combustible material. Heat clearances must be adhered to. If installing over a fireplace, check your local building codes and the manufacturer's instructions for your specific fireplace insert or stove.
