I purchased this to extend our usable space on our patio. It took 2 people about 5 hours in the Texas heat to put this together. We did have some experience with this type of assembly so that helped streamline things. It definitely needs to be anchored, but once it is the awning is quite stable. Pretty nice and sturdy. It comes in 7 boxes + box with screens and curtains if that’s the model purchased. I wish the assembly instructions were in box one and that the instructions told you where the hardware was, The instructions and hardware are in box 5. Make sure all parts are not damaged before starting assembly especially the key structure parts. Some of my louvers were dented but the didn’t effect my assembly. They were replaced, but it took a week to get the replacements. Wayfair and manufacturer were responsive and easy to deal with but it took time to get the replacement parts. I assembled the structure and later just added replacement louvers. Posts and crossbeams are aluminum, louvers and bases are steel. Overall very happy with it.. Witold. Colchester, CT. We recently purchased this pergola and overall we’re very happy with how it turned out. Once assembled, it looks beautiful and adds a nice focal point to our landscape bed. The design is attractive, and the size was perfect for creating a garden feature without overwhelming the space. Assembly was straightforward, and all of the parts were labeled well. The wood accepted stain nicely, which allowed us to customize the color to better match our porch and decking. (The lighter wood shown in some photos is the original factory color before staining.) The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that several pieces arrived damaged from shipping. A few boards had broken ends and cracked sections around the pre-drilled holes. Fortunately, the damaged pieces were not structural components, and we were able to repair them with wood glue and still complete the build without needing replacement parts. Despite the shipping damage, the finished pergola feels sturdy, looks great, and was a good value for the price. If the manufacturer improved packaging and shipping protection, this would easily be a 5-star product. Overall, we’re pleased with the final result and look forward to training climbing plants over it for years to come. I love this pergola! I had been debating one for years and finally found one with all the features I wanted. We dont have any trees so theres no natural covering, and the backyard gets blasted with sun during the day. This pergola is perfect for manually adjusting the 4 different sections of louvers for the amount of sun wanted. We havent used the curtains or netting yet but I love having the option when needed. We paid for assembly which occurred over 3 days and 3 different crews. Caution- I dont recommend using the included anchors for anchoring to your base, unless your base is absolutely perfectly level. This was surprisingly easy to construct (if you REALLY pay attention to ALL of the pictures and do it exactly the right way the 1st time; which we did not and had to take apart 3 different sections due to installing a piece/pieces in the wrong direction). The destructions (oops spelled that wrong, I meant instructions) are pictures only so be prepared for that. I recommend buying and using a rubber washer on the #3 roof screws. We did not and then had to figure out how to get back up there and put roofing tape over the screws to stop the little leaks. We also used the same roofing tape to go along the edge where this goes up against my house to keep the rain from running down between. It took me and my husband about 10 hrs to build this over 2 days. Full disclosure, we have both done some construction in our younger days, but we are both not as good as we once were. We bought 2 of these 10x12s and will be building the 2nd one next weekend. I suspect this one will go much more smoothly given the experience of building the 1st one.. Anonymous. Sat Jun 13 2026
