This animal cage features a metal frame with a wooden ramp and edge barriers. Measuring 27.6"L x 20"W x 55.2"H, the critter nation cage is constructed from solid fir wood and heavy-duty galvanized wire mesh. The five-level design offers ample space for exploration and climbing, and includes a small resting house. It is equipped with a deeper, leak-proof plastic tray that can be pulled out from the front and back and features a lock to prevent escapes. The metal wire mesh top and a visible front door provide good ventilation, allow for easy observation, and facilitate catching pets. This cage is suitable for a variety of small animals including ferrets, chinchillas, rats, squirrels, and sugar gliders, and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

It's a decent cage but came with some screws that were not really ideal for putting it together. Also instructions were a little vague but not too hard to figure out and takes longer than 45 minutes to put together even with 2 people even using a power drill. Also power drill is a must since they only made holes on one side of it to put together. Also, there could of been better attachment pieces for the top and bottom without having to add locks on it. This cage is very sturdy and has held up well. The top attaches securely to the bottom and I like how deep the bottom part is. Update I had the hinges wrong for the lid, now it shuts. I only put the fluffy slam guard on the long edge because if they are on the short ledges it doesn’t close properly. This is beautiful! We have 4 kids (all 11 and under) and 5 prey driven dogs. I needed a super safe place to keep our guinea pigs and this critter cabinet is absolutely perfect for that! We can easily see them doing all their guinea pig stuff. Assembly took me about 3 hours by myself. Directions were easy to follow and I didn’t end up missing anything so the frustration level was nice and low. The lights are our favorite touch. We can see them any time we want but they have a nice dark hideout just in case they need it. I don’t think the access to the hideout is a big deal. If you absolutely need to grab one you can pull out the tray some. Our piggies loved their new home and I also love the peace of mind it gives me knowing they aren’t in a wire cage anymore where my dogs could accidentally get too rough and break them out lol I definitely would recommend this cage.
