The bookshelf is wonderful. Very sturdy and it looks high quality. As you can see I am using for our tv and it’s deep enough where the hdmi cords have room to be plugged in horizontally into the back of the tv. One heads up though, the package is HEAVYYY so be ready to have someone help you carry it in. Other than that, once it was built (which the assembly was so easy) it wasn’t to hard to move around to where I wanted it. I couldn’t have found a better shelf for the space I needed. We live in an old house that we are remodeling so needless to say our spaces are wonky. We have a space next to our safe and this shelf fits perfectly in width depth and height. My only complaint is that the backing was not aligned and I had to remove the tape that held it together to re-aligned it. It caused the piece to crack a little which is ok since this is hidden and for storage. Impressed with the hardware - all metal. And it comes with a magnetic screw driver! Works for me, but I would have been really upset if I had paid full price. Majority of the pieces had some sort of damage that could have been solved with better packing. The backing is pretty flimsy and has really visible creases that I couldn't smooth out. I covered the back with wallpaper bc I thought it was cute. The laminate is pretty thin and seems to be easily damaged. Overall satisfied with it, but I would have preferred something a bit more elevated. Just hard to find a good balance of price and value.. I really like that this real wood. That was the selling point for my purchase. No MDF or particle board. It’s not solid oak or anything like that, but it is indeed real wood. What I think could be improved is labeling the pieces for assembly. Even little stickers would help. I understand I’m not building a rocket ship, but trying to figure out which side is which would be helpful. What I didn’t like. When I tapped down the top of the bookcase I had to use a little force. One of the dowels popped right through the top and left a good-sized hole. Overall, it’s the least expensive real wood bookshelf I could find in my price range. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it is particle board with a sort of paper veneer, almost like Contac paper. This bookshelf is great. Everything made sense in the directions. The holes all aligned perfectly. Easy build. Lots of screws though. Design was well thought out, drawers slide smooth. Great value. Very bright white. Photo just after completion but before I put the four adjustable shelves in the top part. I’m going to add the books tomorrow. You will need a second person just to help lift the top portion onto the bottom part. For reference I’m pretty small, 120 lbs and I built it myself.
