THE DESK: My husband and I both love the desk for my small office space. It has a high-end yet uncomplicated look. The white lacquer, chrome, and wood-tone drawer all work well together. It looks much more expensive than it cost. ASSEMBLY: I took one star off for assembly. What we did NOT love was the 2+ hour assembly process, which was largely due to the poorly crafted instructions. There were about 8 steps on the instructions, but there are a lot of different parts, and each step had many steps within it, and it was impossible to discern which sub-step should happen first within each step (not necessarily what was listed first). So putting it together was an everything, everywhere, all at once experience. We had to back track several times to correct errors, which was frustrating. In the end we got it together and it seems sturdy even though we had a few small parts left over (oops!). I don't plan to stand on it and do the hula, so it should be just fine. The manufacturer would be much better off providing instructions that have 50 individual steps to make it clear how to put the piece together. In retrospect, we should have paid the $89 assembly, we just couldn't bear to pay 40% of the purchase price just to put it together. OVERALL: I still highly recommend this desk.
