Assembly wasn't to difficult, but did take about 4 hours to put it together by myself. Hardest part was getting the bed slats that go under the mattress to line up with both sides of the frame to go into the holes, but once you figure it out it's smooth sailing. Overall, very solid and sturdy. Stairs are a nice touch over a ladder and the little shelf cubbies make a good place for small stuff. The space underneath is a perfect fit for a 78" couch.
