I am ultimately happy with it and it does what I need. There is a lengthy construction process with 44 steps and a tone of screws; i definitely benefited from gentle use of a power drill for some steps while others needed to be done by hand. there is one type of diagram - that shows how to install the sliding tracks that is initially very hard to interpret. but taking my time and having a second pair of hands for the first half of construction made it work and its more or less exactly what I wanted for the space. eventually when I habe a bigger budget I would prefer hardwood but this is a reasonable solution for a small space. They refuse to provide faster shipping, so the bed has been partially assembled for almost two weeks. The upholstery looks cheap in person, and it has a chemical odor. The assembly isn't too bad, but it was missing a part. The drawers are plastic wire, and I do not expect them to last very long. The drawer inserts are cheap, flimsy, very cheap cloth-covered cardboard. The bed is a low price, but even for the price, this seems cheap.
