This smart toilet is definitely smart! It opens up every time I walk by it. It’s going to take a little bit of a learning curve to figure out all of its abilities. It’s a comfortable seat and I love the warming feature. Cone the water line from a standard toilet to this is lower so my plumber had to move my water line. We LOVE this thing! Best upgrade ever. We purchased a sufficiently rated countdown timer switch with intervals that seemed appropriate for a bathroom heater (Leviton DT102 15-30-1h-2h) and have been enjoying this heated mirror so much. A brief ON will defog the mirror, while 15 minutes ON (switching on a bit before getting into the shower) is long enough for it to heat up fully and make a huge difference when stepping OUT of the shower. 30mins is great for getting ready on a very cold morning. The mirror optics seem very clear and high quality. We did not do the installation ourselves, as it was put in during a whole house rewire the electricians opted to put in a recessed outlet box behind the mirror and just plug it in there, rather than hard wiring it. This will preserve flexibility going forward. Because it was going in a very particular place, and we have plaster rather than drywall, they opted to install cross pieces of plywood secured to the wall, and mounted the mirror to the wood strips. It’s very secure-feeling. My one negative point is the thing gets so warm that it’s not comfortable to lean my face close (bad eyesight) for putting on make-up. This is something that might require finessing your timing if it was your only mirror, or setting up a small well-lit mirror in another location. These are only 200 watts, it makes them safe if you have questionable house wiring, most house wiring should be considered questionable, and energy efficient if you only need spot heating where it is needed. Surprisingly small spot heaters are hard to find, most are 1,500 watts that is good for heating a large area, but if you only need to heat a small spot these seem to be the perfect size.. Anonymous. Small, but mighty! I used this in my front room because my pipes were frozen in the bathroom on that side of the house. I plugged the heater in, made sure it was safely away from any curtains or clutter, and turned it on all day while I was working in my office. A couple of hours later, it thawed out my pipes, and i didn't need to call my landlord about it! It's very safe. I'm scared of most space heaters, but this one is great! There's a tip over shutoff button on the bottom. So if it falls over onto a carpet, it will not start a fire on the synthetic fibers. It's also ceramic which is a plus.
