The cushions are not smooth but I could have done a more meticulous job of pushing the inserts inside the cover. I assembled it alone and while it was a bit tricky to assemble the back, I managed it with some books for support. I gave it 4 stars because the box arrived severely damaged and had evidently been overstuffed at the origin. As a result, some of the pieces were damaged and / or dirty. Wayfair made it right. Truly a beautiful, comfy couch. We have had it for a little over a year now and love it. It’s very cushy and has great depth. It’s also super easy to clean—most spills/dirt can be wiped with a wet paper towel without a sign of it if you are quick enough. We use hand held carpet cleaner for the more difficult ones, and it comes out easily with that. The fabric is starting to pill, but that’s expected and really my only complaint. Update 3 years in--still beautiful. Got lazy and put the cushion covers in the washer/dryer on low heat instead of using the carpet cleaner, and they came out completely fine & look brand new! Sofa was delivered faster than expected! No missing or damaged parts. Although instructions were mostly pictures, they were easy to follow. I built it myself and took about an 1.5h. The back cushions are a bit flat, the seat cushions are thick and firm. Did not expect the back part of the sofa to be a piece of metal and light fabric covering it, but for the price I can’t complain. Works for its purpose for now but don’t expect it to be durable in the long run. I love the color and am happy with the purchase! (the plastic on the sofa is to protect from my cats scratching). Absolutely love it! The box was huge, and took a long time to be delivered. But, the parts were well packaged, easy to remove, couch was very easy to assemble. Very comfortable, the single cushion is exactly the right extra firmness I wanted, the fabric is lovely and matches the bronze coffee table (not pictured, sorry) I have perfectly.
