A professional built ours in about 45 minutes, which saved a lot of time and frustration. The wood quality feels a bit cheap for the price and looks somewhat flimsy when first taken out of the box. This is a lovely insert. It's hard-to-find smaller ones, size wise. Many fireplaces are quite large. It can be wall mounted or recessed, but we are building it a cabinet so it can be a tv stand for a small bedroom area. It has a convenient place for the remote. Very pleased!
