The uses a simple butterfly mechanism - gently pull on either end of the table to 'open' the sliding mechanism and reveal the extension piece concealed under the top. Lift and unfold the extension piece to create the additional length. Our cross back solid wood dining chairs are a lovely take on classic traditional dining furniture styles. This is my second time purchasing this set. The first set lasted seven years and three moves. I have nothing bad to say- the set up is easy and we didn’t run into any issues. I built the chairs myself which took about 1.5 hours for all four. My husband built the table which took him about an hour. All the pieces are very sturdy and good quality. Around year five we added some extra screws to the table base, but this was probably only needed due to disassembling and reassembling the table multiple times. This is a really beautiful and sturdy dining set! I love the light maple wood top and seats (it is a little more yellow than it is white maple). And the cream legs and chair backs is the perfect match for the table! It fits perfectly with my farmhouse decor. It was somewhat easy to put together, however there are a few pre drilled holes that are hard to get the bolts into, and the chair seats do not have any pre-drilled holes for the screws, so make sure you have an electric screwdriver!. I love this little table and chairs! It was really easy to put together and it’s very sturdy. Only 2 issues during install: #1 they sent 7 wooden plugs fur the chairs instead of 8 and apparently you need to buy wood glue to put them in, which is no biggie, I can pick up an extra at the hardware store. #2 there were no guide marks on the bottom of the table to show where to attach the brackets. I LOVE this dining set! I got it in the natural tone and it is perfect. The chair upholstery is more beige than cream, which works for me. I am doing a cream/ beige monotone home and this fits right in. The seats are a little stiff but still comfortable. It was a challenge to put it all together!! Took me most of a day. Had to have help to lift and place the table top. But was worth it. The directions are not great but I figured it out. All the parts were there and no damage to anything. Feels sturdy. I am using it as an oval with the leaf in. Very roomy for 4 people. Delivered inside my home 3 days after ordering. Just be careful with the last 6 screws for the chairs. This 5-piece dining set welcomes people around it for casual meals and cozy coffee chats. It includes a round dining table and four matching side chairs. Each piece is crafted from solid rubberwood with a weathered finish that highlights a noticeable wood grain for a modern farmhouse feel. The tabletop has an extendable leaf that increases the number of guests you can accommodate. It also features a pedestal base for a classic French-country look. All four chairs rest on fluted legs and sport King Louis-style backs. The seats and backs are upholstered in polyester in a two-tone striped pattern to complete the design.

This set has been perfect for my eclectic-beachy/nautical style home, in an open space I wanted to keep dining and living visually separated without competing and also not taking up too much space. Love the expandable feature and how easy is to expand. The assembly took just a few hours but I did need help because I am not strong enough to tighten those screws all by myself! I have been using it since and so far nothing has cracked or gotten loose. I would say the boxes were heavy but I could manage and even with all the moving around, nothing arrived scratched or damaged. Special thanks to the FedEx tracking that kept me posted on the delivery so I was able to get the delivery guy to leave the boxes where it was easy for me to collect. Last thing I'd say is that the colors where exactly as shown, despite of the fact that the table and chairs were delivered in different set of boxes. I recommend the product and the seller.. Tee. FL.
