The comforter looks like the photo. It is very pretty. It is a little thinner than I thought it would be. I did wash it before using, gentle cycle. Some reviews said that it fell apart after washing, it did NOT do that, it was just fine. The material is not soft though. It is a little “crispy” feeling, but that may soften up in time. I bought this nautica shame (and quilt) to replace a nautica quilt in a slightly different pattern which we had been using for 10 years. The last one held up very well through multiple washings. We love our comforter set! It comes with everything you need. I only added two extra pillows! This set includes comforter, two matching trimmed shams, a bed skirt, and three toss pillows. The pillows are very cute and the middle one is embroidered! The material is a nice weight, well made, it looks so expensive but is very well priced. Our first king sized bed. I bought so much to complete my room. Cream colored curtains, with bird curtain rods. Our art also has blue birds in it. The decor is attractive to my husband as well. I love our new bedroom!!. Ordered a king sized comforter, I like that it’s oversized and hangs off the bed more than your standard king comforters.
