I bought this feeder because of its large seed holding capacity and also because the feeding ports are only located at the bottom, rather than at multiple heights like most feeders, so I don't have to fill it daily. I like that the individual perches are spring-loaded to close port access if a weighty rodent (we have large wood rat problems, not squirrel problems) gets onto the perch. Previously, I had a squirrel-proof feeder that had one continuous perch wrapped around the bottom, which allowed many birds to feed, but the issue with that was, so many birds could fit on it, that it would actually get weighed down, triggering the spring-loaded port closure, so the birds couldn't feed. I was so happy to have found this one with individual spring-loaded perches! It's a good quality feeder.
