I absolutely love the look of this sideboard. The wood tone and woven door fronts give it a high-end, modern organic feel that looks much more expensive than it is. Assembly is definitely easier with two people. It’s more involved than many flat-pack furniture pieces, but if you take your time, the end result is well worth the effort. Working mostly by myself I was able to assemble the cabinet in about three hours. My only suggestion is regarding the cabinet door installation. The instructions have you attach the hinges to the doors first and then install the doors after the cabinet is fully assembled. We found it much easier to install the hinge hardware on the cabinet frame before putting the top on, then attach the doors as the final step. It’s still a little fiddly, but it saves you from trying to drive tiny screws into a cramped, dark space once everything is assembled. Great piece. Assembly took about 75 dedicated minutes. Some of the screw holes in the particle board threatened to strip, so I feel like I need to be extra careful in moving it (it's fairly heavy, so best to lift it with straps from the bottom, rather than find holds near the top of the unit). Short version: It looks great, was mostly easy for 2 people to assemble, has a lot of storage space, and is best used in a low-traffic, low/moderate use area. I also recommend buying it on sale if you can wait. Long version: The good: It’s very attractive and looks more expensive than it is, especially at a distance of a few feet (closer up you can see that it’s particle board/fake wood). The storage space is significant and convenient. Some reviewers have complained about gaps between the doors but if you google “how to adjust overlay hinges,” you can fix that easily. The need-to-know: *If you’ve assembled furniture before, this will be easy. If you’ve never assembled furniture, this has good instructions but give yourself half a day and know that some details are tricky. 2 people is ideal but one can manage with patience and care. Be extremely careful with the pieces, as the particle board is prone to nicks and dings on edges and corners. The doors can be adjusted to look better, but will probably never be perfect, so if that will bother you, be aware! *It has small notches in the top back for cords—pro tip, put your cords in place before you install the top, as the plugs themselves don’t easily fit through. We put a power strip inside using this method and that’s really nice and convenient. *This is NOT for children’s rooms or high-traffic areas, because the particle board WILL get dinged and banged quickly. You also don’t want people putting water glasses on it and it would not be a good surface for plants. *The sides and back go ALL the way down to the floor, which is a little unusual and could make it stick out from the wall more than you want it to, especially if you have wide moulding or cords behind it. It is made of MDF with a wide countertop that is water and moisture resistant and features 4 legs and a center support leg that can hold up to 275 pounds. The two drawers feature metal glides for easy maneuverability, and the cabinets below have adjustable shelves on the inside for easy storage of dishes, tablecloths and utensils, and top space for frequently used items and decorative accessories.

I’m very happy with it. It took a bit of time, but I was slow and cautious and deliberate, and I would say it went together quite easily. There are a couple of little white scuff areas that I need to clean up. There is a gap of maybe a half inch between the two doors on the left. Ideally they would meet. It doesn’t bother me too badly because it still looks black. Hopefully the surface will hold up overtime.
