It's beautiful and sturdy. I got three of the two-door bookcases, and I didn't want to try putting it together with those glass doors. The assemblers did a good job. The only thing that's not as I was expecting are the lights. There isn't a pure white color light setting. Love these shelves. Great quality as everyone says. The problem I had was the assembly. I purchased the full assembly (taking out of boxes and fully assembly and removing boxes). Wayfair partners with Angi List and unfortunately the service was problematic. First they note this is a two person job and only one person came. They couldn’t help with anything because they didn’t bring a ladder or right tools. I ended up taking the shelves out of the boxes which took about 45 mins per box because you literally have to cut the shelves out if you keep them standing up. I also hauled away all the packaging. Then I rescheduled another contractor to anchor to wall and install the ladder. Again, only one person came without a ladder. He managed to use a stool I had to anchor things and helped drill an extra hole in shelf for ladder since I needed to rearrange shelves differently and the ladder rail wouldn’t fit. Overall it all came together nicely but did not appreciate leaving the assembly to a second party that was not reliable and there was no customer service to speak to, everything was AI and very frustrating. to. This is a truly beautiful piece, and it makes my office look much more professional. It feels sturdy and appears to be well made overall. There are, however, some minor scratches — a few are not very noticeable, but others are more visible. The finish on the edges of the wood could definitely use improvement, as it needs better coverage. Also, note that the back of the cabinet is not real wood — it’s a very light, thin material that feels more like paper. This might matter depending on where you plan to place it. I love it! It’s very well made, the assembly instructions are great and it only took my husband about three hours to assemble it. I love the textured laminate since it will be easy to dust. The drawers are a bit “shifty” from side to side, but very sturdy. I use the top for my collection of "chicken pitchers" and the shelf for cookbooks, etc. and the drawers for kitchen linens. This Didier Barrister Bookcase (4 door - HAVANA GOLD stain selected) works for what I needed it for. A couple of suggestions to the manufacturer: foot pads should be leveling type foot pads, I have tiled floors. Doors should close magnetically to ensure doors close ALL the WAY, and an inside (top-level) electrical on-off light would be a nice addition. It's a beautiful unit. However, it arrived damaged. The manufacturer is going to address that issue. I also paid for assembly. Two pros were assigned and only one showed up. That pro didn't want to do the job alone, so assembly had to be rescheduled. Only one pro was assigned at the reschedule. It's a very heavy unit. In my opinion, two pros should have been assigned. The cabinets look great! I was expecting them to be about 1 foot higher than they are (I guess I didn’t measure well). Its a good sold wood cabinet. Fits lots of heavy books. We were very happy we paid for assembly as it took him a while to do. He did a great job.
