5 stars for the bed but unfortunately, the experience took much longer than it should have. Our first delivery arrived incomplete, with only two pieces of wood—more than half of the bed was missing. We had to return it, and a full replacement shipment was sent, which delayed everything, including our assembly (which, of course, we still had to pay for). The new shipment did arrive with all the parts, but we also noticed some chipping and damage on the side. At that point, we decided to keep it because we were tired of going back and forth. This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. I have had other similar beds where the drawers are made of plastic. I am glad that I paid someone to install it because it took a pro more than an hour. This bed is very well made and super sturdy. All the parts and screws fit together perfectly. It came securely wrapped and packed. It took my husband and I 6 hours to put together. Instructions could be a little more clear. It’s all pictures and some of them are tiny and not so easy to decipher. Something to think about when considering whether to pay the $86 for someone to come assemble it for you. The drawers slide gently and align perfectly. They are lined inside with the sturdy pressed wood material and reinforced on the bottom to hold weight. They aren’t wire cages as I have seen in other drawer beds. Utilize your bedroom space to the fullest with the bed. This bed is constructed from sturdy wood finished in a neutral ash walnut to easily blend in with a large variety of room layouts and styles—three underside drawers on one side of the frame supply superb storage potential while maximizing floor space. Assembly is required, and box spring is not needed, as the bed has internal slats for mattress support. The headboard features inset paneling for added texture and depth, making the Arista bed an alluring addition to any bedroom.

The bed was easy to build and is solidly made. It's a good semi-rustic fit and is not overlarge. In some places, you can see the slats beneath the mattress as the frame is just a tad larger than the mattress itself. The wood is of good quality. Our two actual caveats with the piece are: (1) The headboard is a little flimsy — it attaches via four screws to the base of the bedframe. If you lean against the headboard, you can feel it quiver (a light bounce). The wall behind our bed has a slight molding at the bottom — so while the headboard is physically touching the bottom of the wall, most of it isn't in direct contact with the wall. When one or both of us leans against the headboard, we (again) can feel it quiver. It doesn't make us feel like we want to put too much weight on it because we're worried it might snap. (2) We were sent a drawer with two left-hand attachments, meaning we had to remove one for it to fit in the allotted space.
