The trunk is as it looks. Hinges seem strong but even if they weren't, the wood is so light that it wouldn't hurt fingers. If you are looking for a solid piece of furniture, this isn't it. The chest looks nice. The quality is good. However, the drawers only pull out about half way. Very weird. I thought about returning it but I can make it work. I read the reviews about the drawer problem but still ordered it because I liked it (I don't always trust the reviews). Also, in the product description the drawer dimensions are not listed. Value Overall a nice dresser for the price if you can catch it on sale. I also took the additional 10 discount for keeping the item with the drawer box damages. (I tried to get new boxes but they said it had to be completely returned, and I didnt want to deal with the hassle.) 2 of the 6 had some damage or weren’t well built, but for the price, it’s a chance I was willing to take because I love the visual. The drawers have to be pressed completely shut, but that doesn’t bother me since I read the reviews and expected that. Visually I would call it more of a mahogany look.
