I can put the hottest pot on it and it won't stain or burn, it's also non porous and hail resistant. Last hail storm didn't even leave a scratch or a chip. This set is great for the price. Wasn’t too awful to assemble but did take some time with two of us. Looks very nice in our yard as you can see. The wood is not real of course, actually looks good which is what we were worried about. The chairs are pretty comfy. Nice pads for them you can take in when not using to keep them clean and dry. This table was very easy to put together. It only needed the legs assembled to the table top. This table is tall so my chairs with arms will fit underneath with the exception of the ends when the table is at it smallest. The leg brackets are in the way of the chair arms on the two ends. This is not an issue when the table is extended. The table easily extends from a small 4 person table. I purchased the 83' length so it could fit possibly 6 to 8 people when extended. It's also narrower than my other tables but for my purpose, that works. It is exactly what I wanted but I gave it 4 stars because the second time I extended it one of the roller wheels that is used to extend the top, fell off, so I had to put that back on (not difficult). Beautiful! The finish is so smooth and the table sits very evenly, heavy, looks more expensive than it was. The extensions fold underneath the table, and there is a secure, locking mechanism that uses a little red button.
