The Mikasa French Countryside flatware set is a quaint design, versatile enough to coordinate with multiple decorating styles. It has a highly polished finish which I plan to hand wash and dry most of the time, although Im sure it would hold up well in the dishwasher. The weight and balance is good, but I find it slightly more cumbersome to use than another set I have. In my pictures I show another older European sized set that is slightly larger, and a vintage set that I consider human sized, along with the Mikasa set in the center. It’s taken me 30 years to replace our stainless steel service of forks, knives spoons, what can I say It worked well, enjoyed it but, once while fine dining with friends, I noticed the quality of her service set, it was weighted, an enormous difference than what we had at home.
