5 stars for the bed but unfortunately, the experience took much longer than it should have. Our first delivery arrived incomplete, with only two pieces of wood—more than half of the bed was missing. We had to return it, and a full replacement shipment was sent, which delayed everything, including our assembly (which, of course, we still had to pay for). The new shipment did arrive with all the parts, but we also noticed some chipping and damage on the side. At that point, we decided to keep it because we were tired of going back and forth. Wow! Apologies for not staging the bed better for these photos, but the bed is exactly as pictured, it’s solid, it sits up high, and the storage underneath is amazing. This is in my son‘s room and we were a little worried about the hydraulic system if he were to get into it, but you need to be taller and stronger to lift it up as soon as you put the initial pressure on the lift, it comes right up easily. Closing the hydraulic lift is the same process… You give it quite a bit of a push before it smoothly goes down. This bed was great for our needs. I got it for my 22 year old God-daughter and she loved it. The color is a pretty grey. The quality is good and sturdy. It was moderately easy to assemble. There were definitely a few confusing parts of the directions but we were able to figure it out without it taking long. The main reason I can not give it 5 stars is that the remote did not work. Customer service has been outstanding. Quality control, not so much. The first bed came with a through and through crack of one of the footboard legs as well as an opened joint at the juncture of the footboard crosspiece and the leg. We sent photos to customer service requesting a replacement piece. They sent an entire second bed. It arrived today. The leg was intact, but the footboard, once again, was not firmly attached, and a visible nonunion was noticed as soon as we examined that piece. The bed is great! The only thing that was frustrating was that it was advertised as the lowest price and had a 24 hour window to get the offer so I took it. I found out two days later that the Bed went on sale for a lower price and when I contacted customer service, they were unwilling to match that price or even let me return the bed and get my money back and then order the Bed at the lower price. This Murphy bed is absolutely beautiful! It’s also very heavy duty. I had someone put it together and she did it in about 3 hours so not bad at all. The leather handles don’t serve any purpose when it comes to pulling the bed out or putting it away. The leather part for the straps isn’t even attached and comes straight out when you try to grab the straps. Not a deal breaker though. The only other thing I’ve had an issue with is the latches that hook everything together.
