The color is perfect, although the wood grain is painted on rather than real wood and some color rubbed off when I removed a scuff that was on the front of a drawer when I unboxed it. I bought both the 7 drawer and the 4 drawer dressers from this set and the 7 drawer dresser was much easier to assemble. The assembly was challenging for this dresser. I also bought the 7 drawer dresser to match and it was much easier to assemble than this one. This dresser is really nice. It took four hours to put together with one person doing it. The fact that it has so many drawers was the reason for taking longer.
