Good NESS! I am all over the place on this review. Let me start by saying that I love the look of this stool. It’s classy and feels very sturdy. It arrived with some pieces already assembled which doesn’t happen that often. It really only should have taken about 8 minutes to assemble, BUT…the screws were very hard to put in, particularly into the wooden back. I was only able to get 2 of 3 fully screwed in, even with a power screwdriver. Then, when screwing the footrest on, the hole is on the backside and it’s like playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey to find the screwhole. But, eventually, I got them all in. Then, the chair was very uneven. We finally saw that one of the end caps on the legs was upside down and that was an easy fix. (This was one of pieces that came already assembled). I opted for the green chairs and we love them! The kids love how comfortable they are. These chairs are a full seat allowing for those who are fuller at the bottom to sit comfortably. They are light and not heavy at all. Putting them together was relatively easy. Initially, there was a gap between the high back portion of the chair and the chair leg that rests on the back of the chair. However, loosening, realigning and tightening the screws towards the end fixed the problem. It helps to have two people but construction can be completed with one person. That being said, the faux leather has held up well to all sorts of spills, stains, bumps, etc. They don't feel very sturdy but they do the job for now. I purchased a less expensive version, fully expecting to have to replace when the kids are older. Edit 2/13/2026. We've now had these just under 6 years. While I started my first review with an expectation of these being absolutely trashed in a couple years, I am thrilled to report that I was wrong. They're holding up great to a now 8 and 4 year olds daily meals. The kids also like to use these stools as stepladders to get cereal, bread, etc out of the upper cabinets. If you get up close you can start to scrutinize the visible screws connecting the metal foot bar to the legs, or the resin? Plastic? legs that are made to look like white washed wood. I didn’t pay $300 per chair though, and I think those things are forgivable given the price I paid. The seats are nice right now. I am a little worried about how they will hold up with regular use..
