Not only are they really pretty, but they also have some weight to them. It will take some used to cooking on medium to low heat as recommended. Each pan came in bags for storage. I cannot believe this is not Teflon! I emailed viking and they told me this is 99 titanium a tiny amount of silicone oxide on the cooking surface. I tried frying egg with a teaspoon of avocado oil, the egg slid smoothly as if Teflon. Then I tried with no oil at all. It did not slide freely but with help of a silicone turner the egg still released flawlessly. (See the 2 photos I attached).
