This is an elegant, firm sofa that was easy to assemble solo, and this is not something I usually do. I did have a friend help me flip it up onto its legs after assembly. The box arrived really beat up, and I had misgivings as I was unwrapping, but the contents were protected. I have now had this sofa for over a year; I slept on it for three months while fostered cats and kittens took over my bedroom. It would work to use it as a daily bed, but it is VERY firm. The blue velvet fabric has held up nicely despite 2 cats (who fortunately, do not scratch it). I have received many compliments on it; it is the focal point of the sitting area. The quality of this sofa/sleeper is exactly what I ordered! It sits firmer than I thought but not uncomfortable. The storage area underneath is large and a plus. The sleeper part is easy to lay out. Overall, I’m very pleased with the product. The service to assemble the sofa/unit on the other hand, was not good. The first crew did not assemble it correctly and didn’t quite seem to know how to put it together. I had to contact Wayfair as I knew it was not done right, couldn’t even sit on it! I requested them to send another crew to resembled it correctly. This took more time and effort than I desired, a couple of additional weeks. However, Wayfair made sure it was taken care of and completed to my satisfaction. They listened to my concerns and made this right in the end. I purchased this sleep sofa for my family room. If I need an extra sleep space for guests, this is what I selected. My number 1 reason for selecting this sofa is because it’s from Stearns Foster. I already own a mattress from them and have been extremely satisfied with the quality and comfort. I purposely sought out Stearns Foster to see if they even offered sleep sofas. I was pleased to see they did and also the mattress is more substantial at 8” thick versus many that are much thinner. The seating is firmer than many standard sofas, but that is to be expected when there is a mattress tucked into the sofa. I was pleasantly surprised by this item. I ordered knowing it was a cheaper buy but I am very pleased with it. Comes in one big heavy box. Very easy to put together. Comes largely put together and you have to slot in a couple of pieces and that is it. Took 15 mins with 2 of us. Fabric is surprisingly good for the price and is nice to the touch. The seat part of the sofa is not hard but not soft. I would say medium to soft but this is understandable given it is a sofa bed and I am overall very impressed with its comfort.
