These bookshelves look amazing in my craftroom. We purchased 3 of them, each one took my husband approximately 3 hours to put together. He then used his own hardware to secure them together to make it look like one large unit. The doors all open well, the shelving seems sturdy enough for my supplies. I only purchased these because of the huge discount, you get what you pay for. If you are looking for “built in craftsmanship,” this option is not for you. We knew we would be downsizing in a few years and did not want to invest a huge amount of money for built ins. Having said that, these units are the showcase of my craftroom! Great cabinets for the price. I changed the knobs to go with my decor. The reason for a four start vs five star is because when I first purchased the cabinets the description said solid wood. Then after item shipped I looked at the item again because I was excited and the description had changed. It no longer said solid wood and a review popped up that hadnt been there saying it wasnt solid wood as they had expected so the description had been updated. I ended up keeping it because I needed something right away. Ive had them for some time now and still like it. Both the directions and holes predrilled were fairly easy to assemble. Due to the size it came in 3 sections but once the first was assembled it went much faster. Looks great and very solid construction. Would definitely purchase again. Description says real wood and it is real wood not particle or press board. Pine with a baked on finish which looks fantastic. Assembly is simple and the directions are straightforward. Everything aligned perfectly and it took about 45 min to assemble both boxes. We found that attaching and aligning the doors was easier with 2 people. Aligning the doors took some patience but once we got the hang of the hinge adjustment, we got it done.. Robert.
