I’m really happy with this light/fan combo and it has been a fantastic upgrade for our kitchen. The vintage design looks even better in person, and it adds a lot of character without feeling too over the top. One thing I especially appreciate is that the light is bright enough to fully illuminate the room but doesn’t blind you when you happen to look up at it. The crystal cage softens the light nicely and gives it a warm, inviting look. Installation took a little more effort than I expected. The included instructions were a bit confusing in a few places, but if you’ve ever replaced a standard flush mount light, or follow an online video tutorial, you’ll have no problem figuring it out. It is somewhat heavy, so having a second person nearby can help, but one thoughtful feature is the built-in hook that lets the fixture hang from the ceiling while you connect the wiring. That made the hardest part of the installation much more manageable. The fan has been the biggest surprise. It’s incredibly quiet, even on the higher speed settings, and it moves enough air to keep our kitchen noticeably cooler during the summer without being distracting. It’s exactly what we were hoping for in a room where a traditional ceiling fan would have looked out of place. Overall, this fixture combines style and function really well. It's a beautiful fan! We bought two, one for our bedroom and one for a back room that does not get much air circulation. The glass dome is very pretty and filters the light nicely. Make sure you get smaller bulbs with lower watts, standard light bulbs do not fit within the dome and higher wattage bulbs (over 60w) produced rather harsh light. The fan is very quiet, we are able to sleep with the fan on all night. We also have high ceilings and the fan still does a very good job of circulating the air even on the lowest setting.. Stephanie.
