I bought two of these for my kids bedrooms. The fabric is beautiful and looks as pictured. There are zero instructions or pre-drilled holes for these beds. You get the base, the headboard and the two boards that hold up the headboard, along with 4 corner feet, two center feet and two different types of screws. How you want to assemble it is up to you! I was able to build both beds on my own, although it did get tricky attaching the headboard “legs” to the bed base. The headboard legs are nice and long, so you can accommodate taller mattresses. After searching through hundreds of bed frame options and not finding anything else we liked, we decided to go with this for our new king sized bed. It was incredibly easy to put together and the instructions were better than I expected. The only issue was that the instructions referenced pieces being A, B, C, etc. but the pieces didn't have those labels, just the numbered stickers where pieces joined up. It was possible to work around that issue though! The box was heavy and the two of us could have fought it up the stairs, but we just opened the box downstairs and carried the pieces up, which was definitely the way to go. The bed frame is sturdy and doesn't make any noise. The velcro aspect of where the wooden slats sit on the metal is a great addition! We put a 14 inch mattress on it and the headboard is about the same height of the pillows (see image). We opted not to peel off the tape to use the adhesive on the mattress, it has been staying in place well without it, plus it would have made unrolling the new mattress tricky. This bed is really, really gorgeous! So solid and obvious it is not assembly line. The caveats- some off the hardware was slightly off so needed to be ‘convinced’, some small areas not completely stained ( furniture pen there), and despite search filter - this is NOT a platform bed. You will need to add slats if you want to forgo the box spring. Although the slats provided are larger than most beds, we did add 4 to be safe-used oak so it is extremely solid. Looked EVERYWHERE for a twin with a decent height footboard and this fit the bill.., why they are all so short- beats me. Only gripe is the back if the headboard looks cheap, the wooden parts are rough (was so nervous about splinters), a lot of the holes don’t align and I struggled getting it upstairs as the box was 83 lbs and not 45 like they said in the shipping email..
