The dial is bright and perfectly brings forward the Roman numerals for your ease. This classic Mantel clock is a stunning addition to any room, whether it is above a fireplace or on a desk. This clock is large. It's also very light, made of cheap, veneer-type wood. Still, it looks fine where I have it and I like the chimes. I would not call it a "fine clock." Price seems high for what it is, but it works OK.. Sarah. Sun Prairie, WI. Sun May 31 2026

This is on a mantel & just the right size. The clock face is large enough to read the time from across a room.. Anonymous. Sun Dec 17 2023

This petite table clock elevates your console table or fireplace mantel with a timely look thanks to its classic display. It’s made from metal with a weathered gold finish, and it features a round black clock face with brass hands, white numerals, and a glass cover. We love how its open black metal base gives it an extra layer of charm. This clock requires one AA battery (not included). It stands at 16" tall, offering just the right touch to a tray or counter. Plus, this table clock completes the look in any traditional, farmhouse, or cottage setting.

Sent the first clock back same as what others said regarding the clock face being crooked. Ordered a new one and it was much better. I found fixing it relatively easy and should have probably kept the first one. Clock looks great!. Joy. Goodyear, AZ. Thu Apr 09 2026

IT’S ABOUT TIME … AND PATIENCE: This clock is classic and beautiful with a gold rim around its face, gold numbers, gold scrollwork, black ornamentals, and spindly hands. Another reviewer stated the cover over the face is plastic instead of glass and that the "wood" is really pressed cardboard hiding beneath a thinly veiled veneer. I think he was right about the cover - it does feel like plastic instead of glass. The wood feels like wood to me. I hope it is since the clock is described as being made of wood. The chime melodies are all beautiful and a joy to hear … except at night when I want to sleep. Fortunately, the volume can be lowered or the chimes can be turned off between 11 p.m. and 5:45 a.m. or turned off altogether. I would like to keep the back cover on all the time but it’s a bit of a pain to put on after removing it to switch chimes on or off. It’s important to READ THROUGH THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE attempting to install batteries and set the time. And it takes patience to get the chimes to sound on the hour. I used my smartwatch with a second hand to set the time so that it would chime at the right time. It’s not perfect but it’s as close as my patience allows. Like most everything else, the clock is made in China. It’s sad that it’s not made in the United States. At just over $200, I feel like I’m paying good money for something lacking the quality of past years (plastic cover and the possibility of veneer instead of real wood). So only four stars for not being made in the United States and possibly cheaper materials.. Pixie. Florida. Mon Jul 13 2026
