The medallion arrived on time and was well-packaged, arriving in good condition. Overall, it looks nice and should work well for my project. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that some of the edges are a bit rough and will need a little sanding before installation. Other than that, I’m satisfied with the purchase.. We just built a new home. I wanted a little something to add a decorative punch on the ceiling. This is gorgeous. Exactly what I was picturing. Great quality and it paints perfectly. I base painted a solid grey and let dry a day. The next day, working in sections, I painted solid white covering the grey paint and then immediately wiped the white paint off and it leaves the white in the crevices giving it that shabby chic look.. This huge 8 foot diameter round ceiling medallion inspired by the timeless grandeur of European elegance comes fully finished and assembled, cast in lightweight no shrinking durable polystyrene. This product enables the owner to install in a relatively easy process a completely finished 3 dimensional ceiling coffer. Adding sought after architectural detail to plain open vast ceiling spaces and a crowning elegance to a fine chandelier installation. They add beauty for the owner to enjoy as well as value to your investment. Prior to their creation, this effect would have been a very messy and expensive addition requiring carpenters and finishers. This medallion should be marketed to use with wiremold application. I am sure many old house owners resort to wiremold. Some of the tubing is visible, but very little. The opening I asked to be cut fits perfectly. The recess of this medallion's profile works great with the box. Ironically, I ordered it to be cut in half, and it wasn't...but I think it worked better this way. We had to take the fixture down, but cutting space for the wiremold line was relatively easy with an Exacto knife. Love it!. Brian B. Sat Jan 10 2026
