I am using the Saniwift to pump out washing machine water from my basement into the (much higher) sewage pipe. Previously I had an old garbage can with an old sump-pump inside; worked fine for our old washer, but the water started smelling bad with our new high-efficiency low-water-usage washing machine. The Saniswift is much smaller than my old set up, does not smell, keeps up easily with the washing machine pumpout (and with a utility sink I have added in the basement). I have a Y in the drain pipe from Utility Sink to Sanifwift; that Y has about 4 foot vertical pipe, and the top of that pipe is where the washing machine output hose empties. The saniswift is fast enough, I never get yucky washing machine backup into the utility sink.
