My living room is an eclectic hodge-podge of cottage, art deco, modern, and whimsy. This table fit right in with its' cottagey oval top and beefy square bottom. The distressed finish is perfectly done but not overdone. Blends well with espresso or black finishes. You can USE this piece, not just admire it! Eight bolts attaches everything together. Just pay attention that 4 bolts are a 1/2" shorter than the other 4. We didn't. :) Solid wood construction makes it a nice, heavy piece that will last for years.. Laney. Rochester. Ny. I loved the design and functionality of this table. The distressed marks/groove lines are too balanced/even and so make it look fake. The pieces did not fit into each properly--they were incorrectly cut--obviously no one had assembled this before shipping to make sure it all fit and no one doubled-checked the cuts/measurements to ensure easy assembly. When I applied more force to get pieces to snap into place the table cracked--meaning I wasn't going to be able to return it. the crack isn't too obvious but i had to use colored marker to disguise the white crack line. For about an hour i thought the table I'd just bought would be firewood. I followed directions on the order of which parts fit into each other and it simply wouldn't work since it was about 1/4 to 1/8 off and the one leg would not fit into the groove. I had to take apart and try other combinations, such as putting two sets of legs on table top and the other 2 on the lower shelf unit... I finally had to get a small knife and chisel away at the wood and sand it in order for the last leg to slide into place. so i at least have a level table but i'm not able to push all legs into place to be flush and tight into their spots so this really bothers me to see the gaps and makes it look cheap. i am young and able-bodied and have done many DIY projects myself so this was a shock and disappointment. it took at least 2 hours to assemble...i think the prices and selection are great on this site but would hesitate to buy anything from this site again that needed assembly..
