I use the podium mostly to study, as I find it useful to study while standing, and changing positions from time to time (easy on the back; and keeps the leg muscles in good tone with good circulation too). So after intense research, I found this on Wayfair, and boy, NO OTHER CAN BEAT THE PRICE! Trust me.....I did my research. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was the sturdiness of the metal stand. The reading top is a cool flawless design too. I set it up in about six to ten minutes ( am not a good handyman). And yes, it is what I wanted. I could adjust the stand to any height suitable to me anytime. Most of all,it is somewhat lightweight such that I could move it from one place to another to facilitate what task I am engaged in. This is a great podium. Beautiful lines and perfect for smaller settings, like a church or large hall. It is very easy to assemble and light enough that a petite woman can move it without much effort. However, for a setting that is not controlled (like a church full of 'volunteers'), the instructions for handling need to be put right on the podium because it is very delicate if not handled with care. It cannot be picked up from the top shelf, it needs to be cleaned very carefully so that it doesn't scratch and it can not be dragged (because of course, will pull the shelves out). I am sure these apply to ALL acrylic podiums ~so it is not unique to this one. Otherwise, I recommend it to anyone who can control who moves it and cleans it."..."  Read more

First, the product arrived in good shape--well packed and with good instructions for assembling. While this lectern is rather heavy, it is on excellent caster wheels which make it so easy you could move it with one finger. It is a good height and the top section of the lectern can be removed and used on a table top for speaking at dinners or the like. it has a clear rim along the edge for holding papers, a book or pen in place. All-in-all it is very versatle and the one we selected (ironwood) is a lovely rich mahogany shade. It should be noted that this is NOT solid wood, which I had though it would be, but it is very nice. This podium weighs about 45 pounds. But that weight makes it sturdy, stable, can't tip it over easily. It's all real wood oak. Directions make assembly easy and fun. It does have a carved cross but just flip the board around gives you a solid wood look. The shelf is so much better than I was expecting. This podium can hold small to large books and it would be easy to add a light and or microphone. If you are looking for a great real wood podium at a great price, this is the one for you."..."  Read more
