bought this and another Plateau audio rack. loved the other one but this one is not as good. its easy to assemble but doesn't seem very sturdy.

This is basically a solid, nice looking stand that does the job, but rather disappointing for the price. It is typical Chinese-made flat-pack furniture, and has the typical quality control issues - missing a few internal parts, has some dings and scratches, and the workmanship is average. The holes for the posts are not drilled the same distances from the corners, so it's not exactly symmetrical. It's not too obvious, but for [$] it should be a lot better. I also bought the add-on shelf kit for this, and it did not match. The shelf was cut with a different curvature (more than 1" shorter on the sides) than those in the 4-shelf kit, and the metal posts were slightly shorter. They sent me a second kit and it was exactly the same as the first. I sent them both back. If you absolutely need the extra shelf, you might want to beware of this. At least be sure to compare all the shelves before you unpack everything.

This is a good, solid, well-made audio stand. I have 60 lbs of audio gear on each shelf and this stand easily handles the weight, it's very stable, and looks great. I'm very happy with my purchase.
