I wanted a mat that brought energy to the front door, and this mat certainly does that. It makes me happy every time I see it.
The mat was, however, different colors than I anticipated. In the photo it looks like the color of the edging and the color of the pots are the same blue. They aren't. The edging is somewhere between lavender and purple ~ as my mother just to say, it clashes. The mat is also quite thick, perhaps an inch. Not great for older people who use a cane or walker. Although it's big enough and heavy enough that it is quite stable, it could trip someone if they weren't paying attention. But that goes for any doormat.

I have three cats and a litter box. Thing about cats is, is they never figure out how to wipe their feet-- so on several occasions I've followed a trail of cast-off, used cat litter out of the laundry room, through the garage and into the kitchen, rag in hand, dutifully mopping up behind He Who Can't Walk Out of It Without First Walking into It (he can't help it, he's sixteen). So I grabbed a couple of these mats. I placed one directly outside the litter box and one at the laundry room exit...and now if I have to catch up with a little something, it's limited to a much shorter track. The rubber 'fingers' in the mats promote dislodging of any stuck litter granules, catch and hold them in them in the space between. By the time my venerable old guy gets across both mats, his feet are no longer leaving anything behind. And to clean the mats, it's just a quick toss out the side door and a good hit with the hose. For me, they'll probably last forever because they're being used inside for very lightweight, specialized traffic. And that's cool, because they'll be very easy to keep clean for as long as I have them. I can't say how long they'd hold up at a construction-site office doorway, but I think they look promising. And as to looks, well...it's black rubber; what can you say? But they do their job, and they don't clash with anything utilitarian. I like 'em just fine."..." Read more

This is an extremely sturdy and heavy mat that will hold up to any traffic. It looks delightful when placed over a plain colored quick drying rug (like you can order on here from Colonial something-or-other....... I picked bright green). Really makes the pattern POP! Also, if you are lucky enough to have a black wrought iron screen door and black lighting fixtures.... it really ties it all in. The only thing I do not like about the product is that it has a really strong rubber smell, but as it is made out of rubber that is to be expected. I really LOVE this product!!!!"..." Read more

This mat is classy, beautiful, and functional. I've seen several cheap imitations of this mat. All of them unraveled within a matter of days. This mat, however, is sturdy and will stand up the the abuses of everyday use. Its quality can't be beat. My doorway now is the envy of all my neighbors.
