I have a huge CD/DVD collection and I've owned every type of CD/DVD storage unit you can imagine and I can assure you that this is the best unit that is currently on the market. They cost a little more but you get what you pay for - quality - this is solid all wood construction as opposed to particle board with a melamine surface or pre-engineered wood with a wood veneer surface. I have the black units and they look great - very contemporary. The only negative comment I have is that they are better suited to CD storage than DVD storage. The reason for this is because of where the one fixed shelf is located, which works perfectly for CD shelf spacing. I had to modify the units for DVD shelf spacing by drilling new holes for the fixed shelf. This allowed me to optimize the unit for DVD storage. My recommendation is that the manufacturer build in the option for where to locate the fixed shelf - one to accommodate CD storage spacing and one to accommodate DVD storage spacing."..."  Read more

The rack arrived in perfect condition, and the excellent instructions made assembly very easy and quick. It is very attractive-looking. Only critcisms:1) The oak front side moldings obscure the extreme edges of each CD shelf, which results in hiding of one or two CD's on either side. I solved this issue by putting in an empty jewel box or two on each side of the shelf, but that wastes storage space.2) The lowest bottom shelf position is not adequately separated from the shelf above to allow CD's to be placed on it in an upright position. This wastes one shelf's storage capacity, unless you're willing to store CD's on their sides- not an efficient use of space. I am going to try to drill holes that allow the pegs which hold the shelf to be placed at the proper distance."..."  Read more

I bought two of these towers to replace two smaller overloaded ones I had. I have a 850+ DVD collection with no other types of media to store. This is the first tower I've owned that leaves no unused space when only storing DVD's. My old ones left shelf space that only CD's would fit on. My old ones also had molding on each side that prevented two DVD's from being seen on a full shelf, these new towers don't have that problem. In fact, the new towers are slimmer and taller than my old ones but are more solid. I attribute this to the impressively thick interlocking back pieces that were alot easier to nail on than other shelving I have put together before."..."  Read more

This is a great unit for us to store our DVDs in. The finish is the color we expected and is excellent quality. It was easy to assemble. We took our time to make sure we got it right... probably about 4 hours. All the parts fit together perfectly. It's beautiful piece... better than we expected! It holds all our DVDs and looks beautiful in the room. The only negative, as some other people commented is that there is a space behind the trim on each side of each shelf. It's exactly the size of a DVD so a DVD will disappear behind the trim. This is easily solved by putting a blank empty DVD case on each end of the shelf. Overall we are extremely satisfied with this media storage unit. Love it!"..."  Read more
