I have to admit. I thought the Globe would be larger. So right off hand that was somewhat of a disappointment for me. However the light has a concentrated brilliance and when you touch places with your finger the currents change inside and follow you. Very cool feature. It is also pretty sturdy. My husband droped it openning the box and I thought it was done; but not a scratch. Then I dropped it putting it up but still not a scratch. I think it is a cute light and will definitely be used as a toy for a middle aged child. My son is 6....I put it far back on a shelf in his desk so that he only touches it when monitored.

neat toy, fun but not much of a lamp

Easy to use right out of the box. Everybody loved playing with it. The colors sort of track the land masses, but also shift to give neat effect.
