Purchased this ice maker for a sailboat for long trips where we would not be able to buy bags of ice. It starts popping out ice in no time flat. You must be aware that it is ONLY an ice maker, once it makes ice and fills up it's bin you must empty it into a freezer or cooler, or the ice will melt. But all these little ice makers work just like that. This one is quite, it pumps out more ice for the money than any other machine. It is not a proffesional machine though. It can only keep up enough ice for a party of 10 people all who are drinking. I wish my freezers ice-maker was half as fast as this one!"..."  Read more

I love the ice maker. We needed more ice and it does what it says. But, It was not mentioned in the review of the product that you had to manually defrost the machine. It's not hard to do it, but it does take up time I don't have. I have to make time though, unfortunately. If I had to get another one, I would make sure it defrosted on its own.
