Dont believe what you see The color is much, much darker than the picture likes you to believe it is. Plus this item is poorly designed where the seat attaches to the back of the bench. The seat came off after only one day. My husband had to use gorilla glue to glue the three metal cams back into the wood and then two screws to hold the seat hinge in place. |

Low Quality, Difficult Assembly We ordered two benches, this one and another. Our other purchase was hardwood, high quality, and required no assembly. This bench, as other reviewers commented, is darker than the picture and looks nicer. Overall, however, this product is low quality veneer and took much longer to assemble than any other piece of furniture Ive ever put together. For such low quality, veneer versus hardwood, its not worth the price. The other hardwood bench we ordered is of excellent quality and was not even twice the price of this one. This one looks like a piece of assembled furniture, so for the price and time spent in assembly, its not a deal or value at all. |

Cheap junk Missing dow pin on Back Stretcher piece. Seat was warped in back making it hard to attached to base according to instructions (step 8). Big cracks between the seat and arm on the left side. Parts dont fit together as they should. Cheap hinge springs. |

gk Review this product in 20 words or more...The product is very nice. Not too difficult to assemble with 2 people. Make sure all parts are facing the correct way before screwing together. Color is darker than pictured. |

hall tree The hall tree is lovely but a nightmare to assemble! It did arrive slightly damaged, but didn't bother to take the time to return. Where I placed it, you don't see the damage. The shipping was free and it actually arrived quickly! |

Needed additional hardware to reinforce but turned out beautifully It took me approximately four hours to assemble alone; I'm sure this would go faster if you had extra hands to help you steady the pieces while you secured with hardware. The pre-installed hardware that the head bolts screw into to secure the seat to the bench was inadequate to do the job; the head bolts were just spinning in the fasteners. The seat fell off several times until I added four additional 1 1/2 inch wood screws from the hardware store to reinforce the area. That seems to have solved the problem. One other challenging aspect of assembly was installing the safety springs on the seat lid. When completed, it looks beautiful. |

Solid Hall Tree This unit is very solid, so you won't want to move it around much once it's in place. It's perfect for near your entry door or in a mudroom. The bench is great to sit on while you put on/take off your shoes. We store our shoes under the bench which keeps them out of sight and tidies up our mudroom. |
