I use the flush bling in my great room and the semi flush in the kitchen. They both look great but the semi flush is more interesting. I used the flush in the great room so the lamp would not not draw your eye from artwork hung near it.
The kitchen Bling replaced some hated flourescent tubes which were recessed into the ceiling (uses acrylic panels). I removed the flourescents and the trim piece, refinished the recessed area, and hung a semi-flush bling. Easy job and looks fantastic.
My only complaint is that I had to bend the center piece in a vise to get the glass to line up correctly. I had a different issue with the Kovacs Grid where I had to glue the shade in place because it would slip out (they fixed this issue on a newer Grid lamp I bought).
