"Hello Cherie, the weight capacity of this item depends on how it is mounted. If its mounted into 1/2 dry wall it can hold up to 66 lbs. and if its a 1 inch dry wall it will hold 132 lbs. If it is directly installed into solid wood it will hold less."

Not only does it free up cabinet space, but it visually warms the room and makes it feel very welcoming. I have about 13 pots/skillets/pans hanging on mine and each one was hung with great concern that it may not hold the weight..but it has! The finish is very nice and it is just a perfect finishing touch to my kitchen. It's my first pot rack and I think I'll always have an Enclume rack in every kitchen I have from now on.
