"Hi Nancy, For this light, the 'shade' rim that goes over the top of the bulb screws into either side of the connecting piece just under the lip of the bulb. You can see the screws in the picture on our product page. Simply unscrew these on both sides to take the 'shade' off, and then unscrew the light bulb as normal so you can replace the bulb."
