I have a 14 yr old German Shorthair Pointer (GSP) and Ive used this type of lead (leash)his entire life. This is an excellent way to train your dog to heel and to keep your boisterous dog near you. The lead (leash) is intended to fit very snugly just below the ears at the top of the neck. This will enable the owner to have tight control over the dog at all times while training good behavior as well. I highly recommend this lead (leash) for anyone that has an excitable or active dog. Ive always been taught by trainers to keep my dog on my left side, always, and to teach them to heel, that is, the dogs head at the owners left hip. I hope you will consider purchasing this slip lead (leash) as a goal to have a well behaved dog when outside for walks. This way, your dog will not pull, because heshe will feel the tightness of the collar around the neck, which if not too tight, will cause the animal to feel uncomfortable, thus not pulling ahead of the owner.
