Cowboy Cooker The San Antonio Grill and Bandera Fire Box - MA9697/MA9696

Item arrived without assembly instructions. There was a large amount of assembly required. I was diappointed with the quality of parts. I'm sure it will last for a year or two but would not buy another

Initially,grill was received without assembly instructions,when it was time to attach the Bandera Fire box,all of the needed equipment/nuts,bolts,etc were not included,had to purchase from the hardware store,(I did receive 2 rods from the merchant after notifying them ). After finally putting it together, bought a protective grill cover, it started to rust after 4 days!!! I owned a Brinkman Professional smoker for over 12 years and there were no signs of rust. I hadn't even used it and there were already areas of rust on the inside and outside of this grill. Seasoning efforts revealed that smoke escapes from areas I didn't know existed and difficulty in maintaining or even reaching 225 degrees.I wanted to downsize but keep quality and I thought this would be perfect after a lot of research and comparative shopping. I made a huge mistake.

Cooker came without assembly instructions. To their credit, Wayfair got a set of instructions to me pretty quickly. Product is not as sturdy as I had expected. Had to install some additional bracing to make it feel solid. Haven't been able to cook on it yet and that will be the true test. Was a bit disappointed that the SAN ANTONIO grill and the BANDERA firebox were made in China. Maybe it said that in the description, but I don't remember seeing it.

This is the most heavy duty grill I've ever come across. I love the whole system. It is easy to move around, it was easy to put together, and so far great to cook with. This is a big grill so the ease of removing the fire box makes it better for cooking on a smaller scale. The only problem I have with this system is the grill itself has alot of air holes around where the top comes together with the bottom. If the lid would seal together better this would be a perfect grill. I got this grill because of shear cooking area & like it for all the other reasons listed above as well.

Bought this grill for my son after his other one rusted. He really likes grill EXCEPT for the fact that the Firebox coating started flaking after the first use. Obviously this doesn't affect the gilling quality, just the look of the new grill.
