Nice looking unit. We got it and the Chesapeake TV stand and they go very well together. It has a lot, a lot, a lot of screws that need to be put in and they are small so it is somewhat difficult to assemble. It seems like a great value and holds most of our DVD collection. It would be a nice feature if you could opt not to put in the locking mechanism since that takes up some storage space in the unit and is a feature we don't use, otherwise we are completely pleased with our purchase."..." I purchased this item last week. It came promptly, and since we were having guests over, we had to have it assembled quickly. My boyfriend is very good at putting things together, but he felt like this item had some poor design. He said the instructions were actually very good. The doors do not meet and there is a 1/4 inch gap between them. The decorative top portion was difficult to put on because when you added another piece, it would make the others pop off. The shelves didn't fit the best, but we made them work. The handles are wooden, which is nice. We were glad we went with the black one, because it is mdf, and the wood would probably be fake looking. It does hold an impressive amount of DVDs. The shelves on the door are not as flimsy as the other reviewer indicated. The side pices are screwed in, it is the shelf in between that you are supposed to super glue. We skipped the glue, and they are still holding the DVDs fine. It is a very streamlined look, but I do wish it had drawers instead of the flip-top, which I saw on another website for a lot more. We have some extra binders of DVDs on top and we have to move them every time we want to get something out of the top. The lock works very well, you could use it as a safe-it is very secure. I think I assenbled, dissambled, and re-assembled it 3 times before I got every panel facing the right way. The instructions dont tell you that you have to put it all together in your mind before you attemp anything - and Im an engineer! However, the fittings are perfect except for the lock, it is sturdy and attractive and it even comes with a touch-up pen stained to the correct color. Nice extras on something for this low price. I like the look of this cabinet, it was easy to put together and I can fit my DVDs in it, but I didn't realize from the description that it has to be locked to stay closed. The left door has a little latch that you have to reach around inside to lock, and you have to lock the right door with a key every time or it won't stay closed. The left door latch was the hardest thing on the cabinet to put together because it has to be lined up just right. I am not a big fan of that feature. Otherwise I really like the size and look and it works great for me and my family. If you are looking for something with magnets on the doors, however, you might want to look at a different cabinet."..." Read more
