Solid, but...

Tough and sturdy, decent heft, but less than ideal design. The locking mechanism slides from one position to the other on it's own, regardless of the setting, which defeats the purpose of a locking mechanism. Also, the balance is a little awkward. These would be fairly minor in the slower cooking pace of your average home kitchen, but in a faster paste setting, these design flaws will seriously get in the way. It's too bad, you're clearly getting your money's worth in materials and even manufacturing, but the design just isn't that great.
