I gave 4 stars mostly for my own fault. the table is pretty narrow. My own bad for not seeing just how narrow it is. Its just wide enough for 2 dinner plates to be across from each other. With 2 people sitting on the ends and 4 people around the table (2 on each side) there is barley enough room for plates and glasses, no extra room for serving platters. It looks great! Sturdy and sleek. The directions were sketches and clear to understand. All pieces were well marked! It took us several hours to finish putting it together mostly because we don't often construct things. The first pieces were difficult because we had to be on our knees to screw it together, after that all was well. Small tools included. When you get to the part where you attach an inner ring to the outer legs, we used the large box it came in to hold it in place by placing it under the metal pieces- which balanced it and held it in place while you screw in place.. A gorgeous reasonably priced table, goes perfectly with these mid-century modern very sturdy plastic chairs. The table looks like marble but it's actually sintered stone, the most durable and weather resistant table surface available. It's man made but all natural, made from minerals yet has no resins. I can put the hottest pot on it and it won't stain or burn, it's also non porous and hail resistant. Last hail storm didn't even leave a scratch or a chip. Nice table! Hard plastic material, however very different than “polywood” plastic furniture. More of a smooth finish.
