The bookcase itself pretty good, around 9 stars. But the assembly instructions were poor, around 3 stars. In addition, there were not enough wood dowels included. I bought two and put them on either end of a tv shelf unit, floating. I have a very tiny space so I installed to the long entry hall. I use it to paint and with the addition of baskets use to store art supplies These bookshelves work well the 9 inch depth lets them fit easily in the hall spaces. I used this for record storage/display for a while and it was pretty nice! Ultimately the shelves did bow from the weight of the records but it was not super obvious or permanent.
