We assembled the bookcase with two people, and it took a little over two hours. The instructions were easy to follow, which made the process smooth overall. However, a few pieces arrived chipped, and the backboard was torn. I’ll need to touch up some areas with black paint. The bookcase came quickly and was in good condition! Although directions state that it can be assembled in 30 minutes (2 people), give yourself at least 1 1/2 hours. There are visual directions which are not intuitive. We ended up with some extra screws which is never good. That said, it is very stable and quite heavy. My husband is 80 years old and I am 76.
